SUMMARY:This trail switchbacks up West Cady Ridge. Once reaching the ridgetop, water sources are scarce. The climb continues 4.8 miles to Benchmark Mountain at 5600 feet in elevation. Saddle Gap and the Pacific Crest Trail junction lie 1.0 mile east of Benchmark Mountain. This is a good trail for huckleberries in season.
TRAILHEAD ACCESS:Drive State Route 2, turn north at the Index turn-off onto the North Fork Skykomish River Road #63 and follow it for approximately 19.0 miles to the trailhead. NOTE: At approximately mile 15.7 Road #63 turns sharply north. If you continue traveling east you will be on the #65 road. Northwest Forest Pass required to park: Yes
