SUMMARY: The trail goes through old-growth timber and through meadows, eventually ending at 2.4-acre Pass Lake. This nine-foot-deep lake offers fair fishing. The route beyond the lake to Falls Creek is not maintained and vanishes in the brush after 0.5 miles.
TRAILHEAD ACCESS:From the Verlot Public Service Center (11 miles east of Granite Falls), travel east on the Mountain Loop Highway 15.0 miles. Turn left (north) on the Coal Lake Road #4060 and continue 4.5 miles to the trailhead. Northwest Forest Pass required to park: Yes
