SUMMARY:The first 2.0 miles consist of switchbacks up through an area burned by wildfire in 1967. After leaving the burned area, the elevation gain is gradual. From Fortune Ponds, the trail continues to Pear Lake and ends at the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.


TRAILHEAD ACCESS:Drive State Route 2 for half of a mile east of the Skykomish. Turn north onto the Beckler River Road #65. Continue on #65 for 6.0 miles to the junction with Rapid River Road #6530. Turn right and continue for 4.5 miles to trailhead.
