SUMMARY:

This trail is a short nature hike, climbing steadily up the side of the hill, with views of Clear Creek far below. The trail comes out at the road after 0.8 miles, but then makes a sharp turn back toward the lake. The trail continues on, passing through dense forest, eventually ending at the 1.5-acre Frog Lake.


TRAILHEAD ACCESS:From the Darrington Ranger Station, take the Mountain Loop Highway along the west side of the Sauk River. Follow this road for approximately 4.0 miles. Parking is available on the right just before the Clear Creek bridge.
