Columbia National Wildlife Refuge hiking

Fantastic area to explore. Wildlife, geology buffs and anyone who wants to relax. Lots of area to explore, little elevation gain. Located by O'Sullivan Dam. The lakes are all a result of irrigation projects from the 1940's. Drive Directions;Take Interstate 90 east to Vantage, cross the Columbia River and take Exit 137 for state Route 26 (to Othello). Continue on state Route 26 for about 25.5 miles and turn left onto Route 262. The road continues north and bends east to become O'Sullivan Dam Road. At milepost 14 (14 miles from Route 26), look for the Mar Don Resort. Directly across from the resort, near a maintenance shop and storage area, find a gravel road signed for public fishing and sign for Blythe, Corral and Chukar lakes. Follow the road past Corral Lake at .8 mile. In about 1.3 miles the road enters the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge. At 1.7 miles the road ends at Blythe Lake
