Trail Talk:

Enjoy spectacular views of Mount St. Helens. Ride through lodgepole pine forest that gives way to Noble fir. Traverse the edge of a mudflow that swept down the west flanks of the mountain on May 18, 1980.

Trail Facts:The trail leaves Toutle Trail #238 at the 8100-600 Road and crosses Road 8100 and gently climbs to another junction with Toutle Trail #238. It continues to climb and then crosses the May 18, 1980 mudflow. The trail follows the west side of the mudflows and then turns west through a managed forest to where the trail junctions with Toutle Trail #238 one half mile south of Sheep Canyon Trail #240.

Considerations:Water should be treated along the trail.

Connections:

A short and a long loop opportunity exists with Toutle Trail #238.
